Sacha Lodge
is situated 80 km east of Coca at
a beautiful small lagoon,
a little bit north of the river Napo.
This tourist complex consists of 14 double cabins with screened
windows and bathrooms with hot water.
Electricity is provided by a diesel generator and there is light till
ten o'clock at night. The
main building offers you a dining room, where international food is
served, a bar and a lounge. Above the bar is a small lookout that offers
views to the lake and the lodge.
This lodge offers you the most comfort
among the lodges situated in the Lower Napo region.
Tour
programs:
The tours start in Coca and end there
again. Transport in motorized boats (2-3 hour) from Coca to the lodge
and back, accommodations and meals at the lodge, native guides and
interpreters are included in the package.

Note: The days
can be arranged to your liking but there will be an extra charge of $
80.- for the
motor boat trip unless they have something scheduled already or for a
group of 4 or more persons, there won't be an additional cost.
Activities
include hikes (early morning, late evenings and at night) through
their own 3500 ha big rainforest reserve with firm land, swamps, rivers
and lakes. You will get to know the rich fauna and flora with trees,
flowers, medicinal and poisonous plants, which will be explained to
you by native guides. There is also a 40 m high observation
tower built around a huge kapok tree, which offers unobstructed views over the forest
canopy. The newest attraction is a 275 meter long canopy walkway
suspended some 35m above the ground, which gives you excellent bird
watching opportunities and lets you also see epiphytic plants sitting
high up on trees, which are not visible from ground
level. The reserve also boasts of a butterfly house, where around 40
native species are bred. Trips to the Yasuni National Park Parrot Lick
can also be arranged (30 minutes away, not included park fee).
