| The Moist Uplands exist on the larger
islands which receive much more moisture than the lower
lying regions. Forests with taller trees exist with the
Scalesia, a member of the Asteracea, most prominent
among them. Also many escaped exotic plants like the
Guava fruit tree play a role in this area often bringing
other native plants to the brink of extinction by
taking away their habitat. |
