Ecuador
is not only home to a rich biological diversity but also has a very diverse population with
still many ethnic groups living in
the different regions of the country with their own distinct cultures and values.
The majority of Ecuadorians is
of mixed race in varying degrees, mostly Indian with White, called
Mestizos (60% of the population), there are around 20% Indians,
10% White (mostly of Spanish origin) and 10% of black African origin.
All those numbers are rounded up and should not be taken at face value
but should give you an idea of the rich and varied composition of Ecuadorian
