Surrounding Attractions:

In the vicinity of the nature reserve are a few tourist attractions which can be easily visited and are included in some of our tour programs.

Mitad del Mundo

Monument built to commemorate the measuring of the Equator Line by a team of French scientists in 1760. Apart from the famous line, there are a small ethnic museum inside the pyramid shaped building, other pavilions and restaurants and souvenir shops.

Pucara de Rumicucho

Old Inca ruins north of San Antonio and east of the crater. Excavations revealed that this complex was once an important strategic military fortress, which also was used for religious ceremonies. There also existed a large settlement of people around the fortress.
