A7 PACIFIC BEACHES (8 days) On this one-week trip we get to know the Pacific coast around Guayaquil with its many beautiful sand beaches and varied marine life. This tour is especially for people who love the sea and the many activities it has to offer. Not only the Pacific ocean is enjoyed but we also get a glimpse into the culture and colorful life of the inhabitants of the Ecuadorian coast. Day 1 Arrival at Guayaquil airport and transfer to hotel. Depending on your arrival time, a visit to the Malecon or another attraction in the port city is scheduled. Day 2 Today we go on a city tour in Guayaquil. In the morning we visit the Malecon along the river Guayas and the colorful neighborhood of Las Peņas. We move then to the center of the city and visit the Seminario park where land iguanas live and are fed by the people of the city. We move then to the Casa de Cultura museum, where many old artifacts can be admired. Day 3 We drive south to Machala, the so-called banana capital of the world. As imagined we pass many banana plantations on the way. Ecuador is the world largest producer and exporter of this tropical fruit. After a short visit of the city centers we drive to Puerto Bolivar where we hire a boat and undertake a boat ride among the mangroves of the area, which hosts a great variety of birds and other animals. Day 4 In the morning we drive to Salinas, Ecuador's best and most developed beach resort town. We spend the day in this popular beach town, relaxing at its wide and sandy beach. For people you like more activity, it also offers popular water sports. Day 5 Today we leave Salinas and drive up north along the coast until we reach the fishing village of Puerto Lopez, which is already located in the province of Manabi. The drive takes a few hours and we take frequent stops at various beaches to enjoy the sand and water. Day 6 We hire a boat and head out to Isla del Plata, also known as "Galapagos for the Poor". On this island you may see birds, like for instance the various boobies, which only are found on Galapagos or on Isla del Plata. In July and August also the huge humpback whales can be seen on this boat trip. Day 7 After an early morning visit of the archeological site of Aguas Blancas, where graves with burial artifacts can be seen, we drive all the way back to Guayaquil by way of Jipijapa and Daule. Day 8 Depending on your departure time, visits to the Malecon or to another sightseeing attraction in Guayaquil are scheduled. Transfer to the airport and return to your country.
